When you're young
a pair of female
high-heeled shoes
just sitting alone
in the closet
can fire your bones;
when you're old
it's just a pair of shoes
without anybody
in them
and just as well.

Charles Bukowski

That burbling babbling stuff at the beginning was Scottish mouth music

  • Whatever you do, it's unique and really great!

  • @ruskin51 I have done a couple of other Bukowski poems "Bluebird in my heart" and one other which I can't remember the name of... it must have been important at the time but now I have forgotten what it was.

  • This video, it sure got sole! What do you use to tweak the sound in your videos?

  • @ruskin51 I have no idea. I just fool around with flangers and phasers and distortion, echo and reverb until I get a sound I have never heard before and if I like it then I keep it, otherwise it gets junked. It is all done in Garbageband on an old MAC

  • Exceptionally low budget!

  • And you get bonus points as well in addition to green shield stamps

  • Thanks for sharing the Bukowski poems. I hadn't come across them before. I will investigate. I suppose that he had to fall back on the poetry after losing the face of L'Oréal gig. He makes W. H. Auden look boyish :-)

  • Also, I give you a 10 for that split you did through the video :D

  • Wow, are those Aquila's you tied the shoes to? I MEAN I didn't see those... Lol nice video :)

  • We are living in a spiral galaxy, and our own DNA is a spiral double helix. You have spiral tornadoes and spiral whirlpools, and spiral snails shells. Spirals are everywhere in the tendrils of a pea plant to the flush in the aircraft toilet.

Our lives are often in a spiral... one that is out of control... so one less spiral in the universe is a blessing even if it is only a fake unicorn horn
