It is 1933, during the Depression, and being Christmas Eve, the Walton family are in the midst of their Christmas preparations and hoping to celebrate it together. The problem is that there are many events which seem to prevent John Walton (Daddy) from arriving home to share this Christmas with his family.

  • @Garyv1233 I can relate to her. I had a massive stroke @ the age of 3 and I was in 2 week coma and I am paralyzed on my right side. Mine happened 19 years ago.

  • that is what love is all about. I am 55 yrs old and I still cry when he walked through the door. I wish we could live those days again. there is nothing wrong with living with your parents and grandparents. they can teach you more than you can know.

  • I loved this as a child. Today I am sharing it with my grandaughter. Thanks for posting!

  • I wish they still made shows like this, ones I can sit down and watch with my children and grandchildren. My grandbaby looks alot like Elizabeth in this film. It was a real joy, thank you for sharing!!! Brought back many good memories...

  • So basically the father beat up and then stole presents from Santa to give to his children. Nice parenting. LOL. - p.s. Don't have more children than you can comfortably raise. It's silly.

  • "Christmas is a season when we give tokkens of love...in that house we received not tokkens but love it's self". My favorite line. Now, pass the Kleenex box please.

  • This is my favorite of all Christmas shows. My mother and I saw it when it first premiered and we fell in love with it. Thank you, so much, for taking the time and trouble to post this. Merry Christmas!!

  • @oceansdoor1 +1 ..... +1 Merry Christmas!

  • This might be the best Christmas movie I have ever seen.

  • @lostindiancamp Andrew Duggan played a character on All My Children in the 1980's that beat Erica to a pulp.
