 thanks! I have checked re Brian Davison's Every Which Way - Go Placidly.1970 - it's not it. But the more I think about it, I may have confused songs on this occasion. I think the single I refer to featured merely 2 songs from the HAIR musical, and the B side had Aquarius (Let the Sunshine In). Sorry bout false alarm. I guess I heard Les Crane's Desiderata soon after (1972) and all these beaut songs about universe and aquarian age started to blend in my memory, Am not even on dope!

A group called Every Which Way put the song out in 1970.Les Crane's version debuted on the Billboard 100 0n October 9 1971 and peaked at number 8 on December 4 1971.

I am confused by your dates. Not saying what you say isn't accurate, but I wonder if you know who brought this out as a single way before Dec 1971? I am thinking more like 1970, or perhaps even 1969. Someone gave me the single when I was living in Germany, and I left Germany in mid Nov 1971. This song was on the flip side, with "Hair" on the "A" side.
