    in my experience (iv'e owned two)

    they grow very slow

    and they don't grow big in aquariums maybe 7 to 8-ish inches

    you have to buy a basking spot they float and attach to your tank, dnt really recommend a turtle in a fish tank though. they are quite messy and you have to train them to eat goldfish only, and not you fish.
