Video from a good days trainspotting in Elk River. A nice mix of freights and Northstar commuter rail testing too.

  • are u from elk river??

  • Princeton.

  • Well... The horn isn't really nice but you have to admit.... that's a nice looking train.

  • It certainly is a beauty. I wonder what they'll look like when the get dirty though...

  • I think that they are upgrading the grade crossing barrier ready for the start of Northstar service. They appear to be working on all the crossings in Elk River.

As for the max speed I've no idea at the moment. Perhaps someone on OMR might know

  • Thanks!

  • That "unidentified warbonnet" is (it's hard to tell from the angle) an SD75M or SD75I. They are essentially the same loco but the I has an Insolated Cab & one can see this as a line that runs down the side of the nose. The 2nd warbonnet is a C44-9W.

    P

  • A nice movie of BNSF and Northstar Commuter Rail trains.
