@zingalom I've still got faith that Rodney can make a come back in the more soulful genres though. But for right now, I'd say JDS (Karen Clark Sheard's son) is my new fav producer. He's now part of Pharell Williams of the Neptunes production team.

@wyntonmohorn I REALLLY REALLY REALLY hate to admit it, but you're halfway right. He's done some decent stuff in the gospel genre for Kierra Sheard, and Vanessa Bell Armstrong, as far as the soulful stuff goes. But of course, few people are checking for gospel these days. I know everybody on here's talking about what he did with Lady GaGa's Telephone. I give Rodney credit for being versatile and doing something popish like that. But it's nothing like that old school Darkchild

Lets be real. Ray J signed with SRC Universal because they were the first ones to offer him a major deal. I guess he was afraid he wasn't gonna get that chance again & that's why he didn't look at other labels.
