  • I'm glad you guys somehow made it home to post this. I worry for you guys! Be careful!

  • Fortunately, we're both ok, though eventually we had to bite the bullet and call Chris's parents, who live in Berkeley, to bring us a couple gallons from their emergency stash. Highly embarrassing, hence no video footage, but I guess we'll all laugh about it later ,)

  • the price never topped $4.00 in South Carolina. lucky us. haha

  • you guys should find something else to do. you have way too much time doing nothing...

  • Yeah you could do that, or if you really need mechanical transportation, you could always buy yourself a scooter or small motor bike. At 17 you probably are allowed to apply for the American road test.

  • Yup, My only solution is to just drop a 2 stroke lawn mower motor into the thing and call it a day. I'm sure I'll get better economy...Lol!

  • The top selling pickup in America has a v8 and does 16 mpg, and the others don't do much better. seems your dad is stuck with a thirsty pickup for his job. There are smaller pickups with 4 cylinder engines on the market in America according to goggle, but it depends on which part of America you are in, and of course if any are available in your area. Double bummer. :-(

  • Thats the bummer: he needs it for work. Theres no way around it. Theres no point in a getting a new car because this one is almost paid off. Trade the truck in and still have a payment to take over, and not to mention that the Yaris still needs gas too...There is no way around it.

  • Bummer. BTW you can't get French cars at all in America as I've just found out on google.

As for yhr Nissan, your dad would be wise to trade it in for a Yaris, given that an economic tsunami is heasding stright for America, and it'll hit this fall and winter.

  • Ehh, same non-sense. Parts from Japan, built in the U.S. But they don't sell small french diesels in the U.S. If they did, and they were readily available, I couldn't do anything. The truck is not mines, it belongs to my father. I'm still 17---can't legally own anything.

  • Opps just remembered you drive a Nissen Pickup. So, you could always treade it in for a French diesel car. :-)

  • Well you could always trade your American car in for a French make, as remember the French have been building diesels since the early 1950's and now have some of the best diesel cars on the market. I hired a Peugeot 308 diesel a few weeks ao, and it was great, and did around 40 mpg. Speaking of fuel guages, filled the tank up this morning from a little over the half tank mark, £16.38 for 5 gallon. A guy in a Volvo S60 next to me put £65 in his tank.
