@boylebongo Hello my friend, maybe I can answer your question for you. Maybe the reason is because there are at least 4 different tones for each of the pin yin ge ( or what English speakers would know as the A,B,C's) And what you are not hearing are the tones. Just look up Chinese Pinyin in 6 Mins or some other pin yin ge song and you should start learning some of the tones.
And I don't think you offended anyone because there are over a thousand tone's to learn. 和平,肯

Hi! TY for introducing me to your channel. I have considered learning Mandarin for some time now (and I will watch your videos starting from this one) but what has stopped me is I don't understand the symbols. For instance, I learned the Korean alphabet (I don't mean to offend you if you are offended) in under 1 hour and it "just made sense" but its not the same for Mandarin or Japanese.
But, I will watch your videos and if I don't learn, it's ok, I think. ;)

Hi Lucky! I have a question for you, do chinese people understand the mandarin spoken in Taiwan? I asked you that because I know that there are some differences between them, for example in Taiwan, they use differents tones in some words and as tones are really important, are you able to have a conversation with taiwan people without problems? My country doesn't have a P's R. of China embassy. we only have relation with Taiwan, so here I can only learn their mandarin. Is it worthy to learn?

The reason I learn Chinese is because I like the challenge and I need the challenge. I think that the reason I have continued to learn Chinese is because of the "people".. it's more than that though, it's not just the invidual people.. or persons but instead also the feeling that I get when I am with Chinese people. I feel completed and "at home" when I with Chinese people and this is the reason I have continued to learn, so that I can be more with them. :)
In Taiwan, people also use different dialects according to the section which they live in but their official language is only Mandarin Chinese, so this is used by most of them, and the following most popular dialect is Manlam ngy. So just learn Mandarin and you'll be fine.
