@Stallionman69 There were complications with the- Dude.- child birth, I had a misshapen head that led to doctors having to remove over half of my physical brain. Sadly my mother died when I was born so she never got to see what a son she had raised.

I read about the Amish Fireplace scam after seeing ads for it in a crossword puzzle book. 2 free heaters? I read more about that online at consumer advocate sites. Those 2 free heaters end up costing cost $600. Read the reviews and you'll see what kind of scam it is, and how all the HSN grannies fall for it. Plus it hogs electricity. If it seems too good to be true...IT IS. Better off buying Enron stock. Go to Wal*Mart and buy 2 good space heaters for $30 each. Problem solved.

@bearswilleatme No my friend bought it for me as a gift after we completed the video that this is a response to. I;ve been living in this place for 3 years and they never used the fireplace, so it just made sense to put it there.

@klscott1 It's a marketing scam. Research the Amish. They don't like their picture taken, they don't like technology. They would not really make/sell or much less actually use a product like this. This is just further evidence that you shouldn't buy anything of T.V. and review everything before you buy it. Don't let your money go until you research.

there are plenty of quality electric fireplace stoves that provide better flame effect, better heat, and many for well under $200. Walmart has a nice one for $70. Dimplex and Duraflame, too. Mine is from Vermont Castings and way better than this Heat Surge crap

It's sad that the Amish are being ridiculed. I doubt they're even invovled in this since. The Amish in the commercials are probably just actors. I'd like BBB to investigate Heat Surge.

$299 for a wooden box? Hell, just go to Walmart and get an electric fireplace stove for $79. Same flames, same heater, less scam and no defamation of the sweet and religious Amish people.
