And this is why religion is bad, kids.

No offense, but was this really a contest-winner? Nothing about this script feels original or dynamic. Overbearing religious zealots, horndog boyfriend, girl who interacts with secondary characters who are plainly hallucinations from the get-go, this has all been done.
Of course, it's not like I've written anything better, so maybe I should just to fuck myself.

@jazztickets It's not the religion... it's the people. Asshole.

Lyta comes back as a crazy religious extremist. This is what she gets for connecting with too many Vorlons. I new all that telepathic brainwashing would mess her up. hehe
Pat is without a doubt, a very underrated actress. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I once read she actually preferred doing stunt work?

5:14 Nipples. Made the video worth watching.

@scorpioring36 For example, consider the Aunt's line of dialogue: "[God] doesn't like little girls who disobey. He punishes them!". This aligns with verse 17 of the Book of Numbers chapter 31, wherein Adonai - the Old Testament military title for Jesus Christ - instructs the Jews attacking the Midianites to kill all the men, women, and male children, but keep the virgin girls for sex. You don't get to ignore the Old Testament, since Xianity claims that Jesus is Adonia incarnate.

@scorpioring36 Some people of faith aren't fanatical? Sure, but only to the extent that they do *not* take their founding texts seriously, which begs the question of which "faith" they actually hold. In a Westboro style fundamentalist view of biblical literalism, the Aunt is a sterling christian doing god's work by steering her niece from temptation. If you judge the Aunt to be a fanatic, then from a literal view of the Bible she is a much more faithful christian than you are.
I am just discovering your short films and I love them! I have been a horror fanatic all my life and I've spent the last week watching all of them. I am also a Christian and therein lies my only complaint. You've made a few films that appear to me to depict people of faith as fanatical or insane. I promise you we aren't all like that. :) A lot of them, like myself, love horror, and you might lose some fans with this representation. Just my 2 cents.

@scorpioring36 Thanks for the compliments, and thoughts!
As far as I can remember, we have two other films besides this one that deal with religion. "Curse" is about a man who is certainly angry with god, but in the end, it's clear he's not crazy - well, at least not entirely. "Conviction", I think, actually is very pro-God, and is in fact, a bit anti-atheist, in my opinion. (this response is too long for youtube, so more coming in another response)

@scorpioring36 And this one - well, yes, this one does have a crazy religious person. But, you'll note -- we never say or really imply that she's Christian. She's religious, but we don't know what religion. And, as the filmmaker, I can assure you, it's not Christianity.

@scorpioring36 The members of Fewdio run the gamut from very religious to not religious at all (but definitely not anti-religious). I do think that's been reflected in our films. But I don't feel as we've done anything that is inflammatory towards any one religion. I think if we've done one that was was inflmatory and about religion, it was Conviction, which I personally feel is unfair to atheists, as I am one. But I still respect the filmmaker and his position.

@scorpioring36 So, thanks again for watching, and for your thoughts. I really do hope you're not offended by anything we've done, because that's never been our intention!
