Gold Fuming Flameworking Tutorial featuring Lisa St. Martin

Gold fuming is one of the easiest and most dramatic ways to add sophistication and color to your work. It's a fairly inexpensive way to create custom intensities of gold pink without reduction. You'll see how easy and how much fun this process is, as well as learning the proper flame settings for this process. Fuming vaporizes metal and deposits it on the surface of your glass. Not well! You need some oxygen in there to vaporize that metal. Glad you liked the tutorial though!

I love how gold fumed glass looks like gold plating in normal light, but pink/purple when u put it up to a light!!

Is a rubbing alcohol-salt solution abrasive enough to take the gold fuming off of glass?
