For the past five years every baby is given £250 by the government for its parents or parent to invest in a child trust fund, a scheme that costs you and me the taxpayer £375 million a year! The scheme was designed to help the poor - but it turns out the poorest families are the ones most likely to do nothing with the money. Are child trust funds a waste of time? (Todays Panel: Sarah Cawood & George Galloway MP with special guest: Sheree Murphy)
Its a great system where if you get pregnant by some smack rat the Government gives your baby a £500 windfall, if you do things right, get married, work, pay your way in life your newborn is punished & given £250. So my children because Im a grafter are penalised & some junkies kids or lazy bad back type peoples kids gets double. Yeh great system that!

Its a crap system, it should be means tested that if you pay lots into the tax system your kid should get a bigger piece of the action & if mum & dad are lazy welfare scum, free flat, sick money etc who spend their welfare £ on drugs, fags & chips etc their kids should get nothing not double. Dont these welfare dependant families get enough. LEAVE SCHOOL WITH NOTHING AND A SUCCESSION OF UK GOVERNMENTS WILL SEE YOU RIGHT.

It's realy great because if you from a so called "poorer family" the ones who leave school with no grades, get knocked up your kids get £500 each. The mum & dad who work their kid gets punished & gets £250. The poorer family also get their rent paid, income support, sick £, dental, scrpits, council tax paid & the list is endless. "Poorer kids" are their as their parents put them there spending their free £ on fags, booze, drugs n chips!
