A detailed step by step guide for replacing the 2005 (Generation 2) Prius Auxiliary Battery. This video is intended for people with limited mechanical experience.
Dude, you should be working for some big name documentary show. how about HOW ITS MADE shows?!!! You sound familiar and too close to guy on that show!!
Adding to all the other positive comments, I found these instructions right on the mark. It took me less than 20 minutes to install a new Optima battery. The previous one was 4+ years old and I didn't want to go through the pain of a dead battery when I needed the car the most. I had to have a new Toyota battery put in my 2004 Prius back in 2007. AAA towed me to a dealer that then charged me over $400, which I thought was way beyond outrageous. At least now I know I can replace one myself.
Great Video! Saved me at least $100 for labor at the dealer. I don't work on cars and this was easy! Less than an hour to remove the old battery and install the new OEM spec battery.
I reversed the procedure a little bit. I removed the Brake Supply Power Assembly out of the way to make room and get access to the negative terminal. The rest is easy. Excellent presentation. I wish however that you can use a spot light or flashlight to point out and show better those parts. I replaced the original battery with the Optima for Prius 2005. Excellent product and service. I believe that my Prius has discovered its 'soulmate' and is livelier !
Thanks for the slides and instructions. I just replaced my 2007 Prius battery with the new Optima battery made especially for the Prius. I could not have done it without your help. Took me about 45 minutes total. I installed it for free and now know it was done right. THANKS!

I agree. I think the Optima brand is much better than average. It's worth the price !
