Yes the djembe is played by a friend who recorded it for another song we were working on. For the most part it is a looped sample, that is why it sounds like that. It was also pitched up because the tempo of his original recording was much slower. The djembe is usually quite bassy. I can't play djembe so well myself, LOL.
