Motorcycle Safety

In my 30+ years of riding and commuting everyday to work for the past 15 years, I have almost daily witnessed some dreadful scenes on the road.

I have been trying to cope with increasingly degrading skills and concentration of drivers for years. Reality check... It is very dangerous for motorcyclists in traffic.

My anger was intensifying to the point of simply abusing stupid drivers but this really doesn't achieve anything. Drivers will do what they do and I guess it is up to me to compensate.

With this in mind I thought I would redirect my frustration to better use and construct some videos aimed at providing advice to riders to help prepare for these daily examples of danger (there are not many trips I don't experience at least 1 dangerous situation). There is no better way than to include videos of them.

I hope these are helpful.

  • Looks to me like you ride with a very similar attitude to mine to get there safely. Have you ever had any accidents in your riding career ? Good videos some nice real life examples

  • @Triumphcruiser Hey buddy yes I've had some very close hairy moments and some actual hits as well. I think I've been pretty lucky considering I haven't hurt myself to the point of bad injury and I can continue to ride which I love. thanks for the contact mate and of course... Stay safe :)

  • A very similar thing happened to me but I was going quite a bit faster on an open road with no lights. Car pulled out of a gap made by backed up traffic right into my lane. The lady didn't (i.e. couldn't) look, took her chances which resulted in me hitting her.

Her insurance paid me out, thankfully, but I was driving tired and too fast for the conditions. This video is a perfect example of expecting the unexpected.

Nice job, fromriderseyes. I always enjoy your clips.

  • @keeperofthepuffins and hopefully you weren't hurt.. thanks man for the kudos.. it's very much appreciated and it's these type of comments which keep me doing more.. Stay safe bud:)

  • Lucky you were slowing down for the red light! Normally I slow down if I see a gap in case this happens, but the gap in this video looks almost invisible!
