you counterbalance your terror by rejoicing in God? this is dangerous legalism. if you are terrified bring your complaint EVEN against to him that he might deal with it in mercy and love. Driscoll does not know what he is talking about; and this is DANGEROUS teaching.
I know as it nearly destroyed me.
what says Sy James "Is anyone suffering? let him PRAY (not rejoice) if you are trying to rejoice your way out of agony IT IS NOT HONEST.
much confusion stems from the fact that in greek hebrew and old english FEAR And REVERENCE were the SAME word. but the two meanings are very distinct
BUT fear is sin, being unbelief. Fear not, Jesus and the angels said etc.
live in fear as I have for 30 years (the Lord the Spirit is patiently unravelling mny mortal terror that drove me mad) & it will destroy you if God does not tend to it.
I kid you not, it is the royal road to blaspheming the Spirit
I believe in fearing God... I love God, but he's GOD and he's terrifying... And no, I'm not just talking about this "reverential awe" that people always use when talking about the subject. I'm talking about abject terror in the presence of HE who can destroy both my body and soul in Hell. He does believe we can be Holy, but Holiness comes from the Spirit, not the flesh.
No, I think we should FEAR God (I'm not talking about respect, I'm talking about FEAR & TREMBLING!). - Proverbs 1:7, Philippians 2:12
The thing is Pastor Mark Driscoll is an apostate preacher. He believes in 5-point calvanism, doesn't believe it's possible to be Holy, and his church looks like the world... including the rock music.
Unless he repents of his sin... let's just say it may be bad for him on judgment day.
There are contentions among us The times are dark, we can't let our love grow cold, you love Jesus these other people claim to love Jesus I love Jesus, lets love God and each other and seek righteousness. Your brother.
well you really forgot that part of "in case you dont", therefore you assume that I didnt which of course is not the case.
& I submit myself to scripture too and just bc people dont agree with you in a comment, doesnt give you the right to start saying that people dont fear God
Im not better than anyone! Jesus is the Only one!
I saw your channel, and I see you are leaving all churches to start your own thing. I'll be praying for you.
I know there is a rightful judging btw brothers which is not ur case.
u are not judging?? then why u tell me "read your bible everyday?" how do u know I dont read the bible?;Does that make u better in the eyes of Jesus? no my friend.
why u affirm that I dont "fearGod" just because I dont agree wth ur comment?
Plus u are using the word to argue!(Titus 3:9-10)
as ur brother in Christ&with loving correction Im telling u this...at least give it a thought.

@JustusTheServant you believe in being terrified? you have missed out a verse from I John
"Perfect love cast out all fear. He who fears is not perfected in love"
your terror will not save you. it is in fact a species of unbelief that will, destroy you.
take if from someone who has lived in constant terror of God for 30 years.
I have seen that God is HOLY AND TERRIBLE. He showed me this that i might NOT fear. I saw it in PERFECT peace
if not reverential awe it is terror & sin

look at the next verse
Philippians 2:13
For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

I tell you to read your Bible every day and fear God in the case that you don't. (Notice there was never an assumption proposed.)
Oh, and Titus 3:9-10 is about arguments over the LAW, not about the Bible as a whole, judging, and living a holy life.
I must submit myself to ALL scripture so this is what I say to you:
Sir, you are better than me. - Philippians 2:3
