40) BERNINA presser feet -- Narrow straightstitch hemmer with guide #64

In the 40th section of the BERNINA presser-feet online tutorial we'll show you the functions of the narrow straightstitch hemmer no. 64. This hemmer is a special presser foot which allows you to produce a stable, narrow hem similar to a rolled hem. With the narrow hemmer the fabric edge is double-folded and straightstitched in a single operation, yielding a stable, durable, non-fraying hem. BERNINA provides 7 different hemmers, numbered 61 to 68. They differ in terms of groove width and needle opening size (for zigzag or straightstitching) on the sole. For instance, straightstitch hemmer no. 62 is suitable for fine fabrics whereas straightstitch hemmer no. 64 is for hems on mediumweight fabrics.
