    Can you tell me if that home at the start was Libbas? Also, was this recorded in 1985? I believe she passed in 1987. One more question. Do you know if her birthday was January 5th or 11th in 1892 or 1895? Thanks for all!

    No, the cabin you see for the first few seconds with the commentary voiceover are from the previous section of the Down Home program and is in fact musician Jean Ritchie's home (see the Uncle Joe clip I posted here on YouTube). The Down Home series was broadcast in the UK in 1985, so I guess the filming may have been done in 1984? Sorry, no idea about her Birthday.

    Not as yet. Pelicula Films who made the Down Home series (as well as the later Transatlantic Sessions) are well aware of the interest and are trying to obtain the necessary copyright clearances, but this is probably made more difficult by the fact that many of the artists featured have of course since sadly died. See discussion on mudcat.org search for Aly Bain Down Home thread
