Cause for Paws

The Columbus State Bookstore will celebrate National Student Day with "Cause for Paws," a donation and adoption event hosted in conjunction with Columbus State's Veterinary Technology Program.

The Franklin County Dog Shelter will be at the Bookstore with information about pet adoption from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. this Thursday, Oct. 6. Stop over to meet the featured pet visitors and find out more about all the pets available for adoption!

Even if you're not in the market for a new pet, you can get involved by bringing in donations of food, treats, pet toys and grooming supplies. For every donation, you will be entered into a raffle to win prizes at the Cause for Paws event.

In addition, the Cause for Paws event will feature games with prizes, and special music provided by the Ft. Hayes Music Ensemble. Look for all the fun on the grassy area between the Bookstore and the WD building, on Cleveland Ave. (rain location: inside the Bookstore).

The National Association of College Stores (NACS) is sponsoring the first annual National Student Day on Oct. 6. It's a day dedicated to celebrating student social responsibility. College stores across the U.S. and Canada will promote student volunteerism and social responsibility through a variety of events.

Over 500 college Bookstores are participating in National Student Day by hosting events. NACS will be awarding scholarships and other prizes for the best events, as decided by a vote on their website.
