www.sporting-scene.com. Edward Martin has had a lifelong love of gun dogs and shooting, training his first dog on the family farm as a teenager. He has successfully competed in trials for
many years with a number of field trial champions to his name. In 1993, training Shooting Times dog Monty for a series of articles in the magazine highlighted Edwards approach to training and a huge
following ensued. Adapting the training to the individual temperament of the dog shows how all dogs
can be trained to their individual highest standards. In this programme we look at selection of puppy and training through to eight months. Adapting the training to the temperament of the dog through the initial stages of walking on lead & off lead, the first steps of retrieving, quartering and many other stages ensuring a firm grounding, leading to training to the highest standards.
