The thing I've found most effective as the Turks is Naffatun, those guys do some serious damage for the size of the units if they're well protected, especially defending a siege, which is often what a crusade comes to. Against Timurids their effect is even greater, nothing gets elephants "amok" faster.

Hasisz1 ; Spahi is Ottoman horseman or Turkish calvary knight. But now is name of policeman in Pakistan. Really Ottoman's Spahis is best and very strong.
