i know very less about this stuff. it is just awesome to see that you have build it your self and it works. i am dreaming about having my own cnc machine too one day.

You don't need a cnc to build a cnc, standard shop equipment is all you need. The more you spend on proper parts the less fabrication is needed to build one, spend less and fabricate and design what you need from scratch, more work but less money. To me the idea of a cnc is to make things from nothing, so I made my machine from nothing, quality steppers, drivers, threaded rods, and bearings ect. And dabbed the rest from what I had and could find affordable.

Seems to me that you need a good CNC machine to build a CNC machine, at least quickly and of good quality. :)

No, it means he's not using any belts. All the motors are coupled directly to the screws.
