Loved this game. Hornets were cool to fly, and Rapier's are better. Raptors ever okay, and Scimitars were old clunkers. There were many story branches depending on your successful or lack of during missions. I think I played them all through.

I played this game like crazy when I was 10/11 years old, still have the discs and huge strategy guide...good times!

Galaxy on fire 2 is pretty dam good. (iPod Touch/iPhone only)

hey any1 know the name of a spacheship game it aint online its good pretty good graphics u fly a spaceship around planets to defend them against enemies and u can build structures on planets plz reply

@palegrey ahah handbooks in the 90s were the first thing I did with any game on the car ride home from either a store where I bought it or a blockbuster / rogers where I rented it... unfortunately they seem to be degraded to purely informational and mostly black and white to save on cost nowaday :(

Not meant as criticism on this game as I do like the looks of the original Wing Commander as well, but I really would like to see this game being remade in the style of Wing Commander Standoff or preferably with the graphics of Wing Commander Pioneer (look on CIC for both) with all the ingame graphics, ship scenes, character interaction scenes, and 'meanwhile' scenes in 3D.
Also please put in more capships and fighters types as well as torpedoes.
