Need to add that both amp and echo are from the early late 70's early 80's (British top pro of these days). In case you do not know the guitar is very much the shape and looks of a Gibson L5 (but affordable).

I use an Epiphone Broadway that I have customised with Gibson classic 57 (neck) and classic 57 + (bridge) with Bigsby B6. HH Electronic Performer 150 Watts and HH digital multi echo. Unfortunately recorded with webcam and when loaded to youtube no synchronisation between sound and picture although recorded at the same time. Sorry!

hi, great sound. did you have to re-drill the guitar to screw the bigsby on. just wondering as i have a broadway and might change to one in the future. thanks Jim

You will need a Bigsby B6 or B6CBVF (with a swivel vintage handle that looks like Eddie Cochran's). Remove the strings, frequensator tail piece. and strap locks (ideally obtain the Gretsch ones). Position the bigsby (as explained on the instructions). Use the frequensator original holes to guide your centre line. mark holes, drill smaller holes than the screws. Fit the Bigsby, strap lock , strings and tune + intonation of the bridge. Do replace the bridge to a roller/compensated prior to mod.NB

The sound is also due to the change in pick ups: originals are ok but these are Gibson Classic 57 and classic 57+. Do not hesitate to change when possible as the mod is simple and It will give the guitar a pro 50's sound. as for the bridge a replacement nashville type floating roller bridge will do or adjustomatic...Watch out on the intonation tuning at the 12th fret....Hope this helps...

is the Broadway a good jazz/blues/country guitar?
bondman00794 2 years ago
Yes It certainly is good for Jazz/Blues and rock'n'roll. Overall pretty good middle of the road guitar based on the legendary Gibson L5...This one is a Korean made and although with superb neck and sound the finish is not quite the Japan "elitist" version...I changed the stock pu to classic 57 Gibson although fairly decent and added a Bigsby B6...At $900 + a further $300 for mods It is one of the best sounding guitar I have ever heard...and looks $5000...Hope this helps

That was a great job. I'm a huge fan of cliff gallup.

Thank you...I have always been one of his biggest fan...no one come close to him...
on the same note, you might want to listen to the Crazy Caps (my old group from back in the 80s when I was drumming) on my channel, with my bro on the guitar (he is a real true rock and roll guitarist)...Jumps giggles and shout , blue jean bop, well I knocked, etc...
