An orc wearing glasses does look weird but one can't help it. One wearing glasses can't see well enough without and maybe he cannot wear contact eye lenses (reasons can be very different) either.

It's no different from a bunch of teen playing paintball and pretending its an actual war zone.
LARPing is just like that except a little bit more refined, and played with medieval weapons.

I actually find LARPing to be pretty fun. I don't think it's meant to be taken 100% seriously. Its just a way to goof of and have fun. Just fun. Granted it's a little nerdy but being nerdy shouldn't really be a thing to look down upon. Just my opinion.
