Here is how I clean a Smith & Wesson M&P45. This video can be used as a disassembly and reassembly and field strip instructional as well. Cleaning is easy on this firearm. Cleaners and Lubes used: Ballistol, Mil-Comm Grease, Royal Purple Gun Oil, Titpton Nylon Brush, Militec-1.

  • Only thing you are lacking is an explanation of what the products are that you are using and differences between them. Thanks for posting.

  • @MDS1958 I do have videos on that, but that is a great critique. Thanks for the comment, I will make sure to add that in later to other cleaning videos.

  • Question: what size brass brush are you using on the barrel? It looks nicely over-sized. The Red Head and Winchester brushes for 45 cal. I've gotten aren't a tight enough fit. Would you recommend a .50 caliber brush for .45 ACP barrel for thorough cleaning? Nice and detailed video. Thanks.

  • @MDS1958 I forget which one it is, it is a 45 brush, just do not know the brand. It might be a Tipton is memory serves me right. I use the right size on barrels and do not recommend .50 on .45.... Thanks for commenting..

  • difference between the Royal Purple Gun Oil and Militec-1?

  • @aannkk Royal Purple is thinner, much thinner. I use it on the inside of the barrel. Militec-1 or Mpro-7 LPX is my favorite gun oil on all the other parts....

  • Good video but one question, I thought when you use a metal brush to clean the barrel, you are only supposed to push it through through, not push and pull. My understanding is the push/pull method is fine for the patches, just not the metal/copper brush.

  • extremely helpful to me. Thanks for posting it. There are a lot of options for cleaning and the kit I purchased came with a combination lubricant & cleanser. Do you think that having a separate spray is a better option?

  • @MrAlanrox Anytime, thanks for checking in...
