That's what I'm talkin' about! Way to stand up to Bennett. He kept trying to shift the argument without addressing the fact that the press has a right to report what it wants, barring some very specific secret information. Don't let people frame the debate around security, because that argument can be made at virtually every turn.

Bill Bennett's whole argument is hinged upon the assumption that government's primary role is to protect citizens from outsiders (ie. Terrorists). This is based on nothing but Straussism. One of the primary intents of the founders was to protect people from government, not the other way around. This is why protection is left to the States (well regulated militia) and to the people (Right to bear arms).

It is NOT the Government's primary duty to without information or prosecute journalists.
