its not as easy as u think.. although he had the power, he still need ppl who follow him.. if his followers didn't agree what want to do he is dead meat.. just like Gen Saw Mg
and at his peak time, he wasn't in control of all the country's matters..there are hardliners like Gen Than Shwe and Mg Aye who would oppose democracy at that time.
And now we seems to get democracy bcos Than Shwe is afraid more to his military than the democracy.. So he choose democracy as an exit plan.

I wonder if he knew that democracy was what the people of Burma want, why didn't he changed when he was on the power? Why didn't he gave freedom of press? Why didn't he release Sung San Suu Kyi?
They are all the same BS including U Tin Oo from NLD. Do it when you can. Don't just talk when you can't do anything.
