I just spoke this weekend in Los Angeles and sold $150,000.00 at the back of the room (all verifiable I might add). Last month I spoke in Baltimore and sold about the same and I've been doing that for years.
It sounds like you're one of those teachers that worry about things that don't matter much in the real world.
What counts is your ability to move people to action without being so distracting that it's unbearable for the majority of the audience. I've been paid to do that 2700 times.
