i WAS 2 YEARS OLD ABOUT THE TIME THIS WAS RELEASED. MY FAMILY HAS OWNED THIS RECORDING SINCE IT WAS NEW. IT HAS BEEN PLAYED MANY TIMES AND IT SHOWS! ENJOY IT NOW ON THE 1957 MOTOROLA HI FI.
The Bing Crosby recording was recorded on October 26, 1949 and released by Decca Records as catalog number 24798. The flip side was "Mule Train." The recording first appeared on the Billboard magazine charts on November 25, 1949, lasting 16 weeks and peaking at position #2. [1]

  • @wb5oxq its still pretty good. you should get it tuned.

  • Now this is true music! I like this type of version, that old folk type of music! Its great. Thank you for posting this video on youtube! Keep it up! Also, nice music machine you got there! I forgot the name of it lol. Take care everyone!

  • I like bob crosby's version better but this is still pretty damn good

  • I have a SH18 "portable" in gold finish from about 1959-1960. It uses the Sonotone 8T cartridge, tracking at 6 grams-not too bad for Lps of the 1948-1960 era. This is the 3-channel stereo version, with woofer in center & two swing-out speakers with the midrange & tweeters. Had it since my grandma picked it up for my 11th b'day in 1973. The SH18 & a 1920s record cabinet cost all of $15 at a garage sale. By the way, I think the Crosby 78 sounds fine. not too fast at all.

  • I'd like to fix up my unit and make it look just as good as this one... It sounds real good but I bet in person it sounds even better.

  • pretty neat turntable, man.
