I Have a 2001 BMW R1200C, The bike is great. would like to have another one if they were still in production! i replaced the standard seat with a Corbin and heated it..... like i said, great bike!

Obviously-you don't know much about BMW. I have a 4 cylinder engine in my LT-all K,bikes are 4 cylinder. I have a Harley too and I like it-but let's face it, besides it's nice looks, all you get is a gas gusler and loud machine that leaks oil and needs lot's of maintenance. As far as the rest of the technologie--harley is worlds behind. Harley is for looks, BMW is for touring in comfort and as safe as a bike can be.

Neat video! Wished I'd had a Mentor like he as a kid. It took along time before I got my first beemer. Great feeling! I have a similar one a CLC.

I think the clowns from my broke-ass cousins wedding were hired to for the soundtrack.

The reason they stopped making them was because all BMW large bikes use the same 2 cylinder engine, the boxer. Great engine, but for American's it doesn't have near the power of the Harley's and custom's 4 cylinders.

For bikes where weight is an issue, street and enduros, the Boxer is still used and very competitive. The cylinders are horizontal, so the center of gravity is lower then any other bike.

BMW probably did not sell enough of the RC, it was marketed for the USA and it competed with Harley Davidson.Allthough technologicaly far superior to Harley--the americans are sold on HD--besides, BMW does not advertise.
