What an excellent song! I dug out my copy of Nice Enough To Eat (the Island records compilation from about 1970) and listened to it again.

I had this song on a complimation album of late 60's early 70's songs. It was either Nice Enough To Eat or You Can All Join In. I loved it. Lost those albums now. So searching hear. There was a band called Nirvana on one with a song called Rainbow Chaser. Anyway. Great stuff. I'll try and seek out the origional recording now.

Unbelievable that they're still around!!!!! What a great song it is...

First heard this on a vinyl Island compilation... :-)

Thats where I first heard Dr. Strangely Strange too. Pandora played this song from that album and I was hooked. I was kinda sad to see that the comments in the booklet that came with the Island Records anthology were somewhat less than complimentary, especially considering that they named the collection after a Dr. Strangely Strange song.

Amazing to see this and hear that they still reconvene occasionally. Sadly though it seems that any current news is sketchy. Anyway, this prompted me to get out my old vinyl album with the wonderful fold-out Roger Dean cover. Made an 'old' man VERY happy.

Thanks for that!Made me retrieve Kip of the Serenes from my garage.[Island c.1968?]

The CD Set called Strangely Strange but Oddly Normal is, I believe, a mixture of both of those early compilations. That's where I found this. It's a triple CD set called "Strangely Strange but Oddly Normal - an Island Records Anthology"

You can find some video of that Nirvana here on the tube.

They were initially on Island, then moved to Vertigo. All great progressive record labels.
