It's also funny you mention that bc I am actually in the process of uploading a Letterman special that was on Primetime when he was really innovative (and why older-timers like me still have respect for Letterman), and in my description, describes Leno being known in the industry as a copy cat but doesn't credit anybody (there's a few clips of Howard Stern angry about that).
Once uploaded, I hope you can check out that Letterman special and let me know what you think.

Leno is really selfish. The term is narcissistic and sociopathic where you are only concerned with yourself, and disregard the feelings of others.
I did not see that but it doesn't surprise me one bit. Did you know that Leno doesn't have any comediens doing any sort of stand-up on his shows? Letterman still carries on that tradition bc that's how he and many others got discovered on Johnny's show.
Leno doesn't bc it's a threat to him.

well, I was too young those days to watch letterman, also we didn't get those shows those days in India. I have no clue why leno did what he did, a real rat. Did you see that one where leno ripped a colbert joke?

Letterman used to rock. But here, I think the fact that Letterman had a show competing directly against Conan at this time, yet he went on to the detriment of his show to give Conan's show a much needed boost was a real stamp of approval.
Something the insecure weasel Leno never did to help Conan.
There is also another clip where Letterman goes on Stewart's last old show before it was cancelled, and gives Stewart really good advice and word... to me, that is THE Shit.

stewart > conan >shit> leno
not a fan of letterman, but don't think he's shit either

@yahu86 I have it on my channel.

@mjbab73 haha so true

@cnelson1928 And you know why? Because Conan during that time basically did the show that Letterman did for years on NBC. You really do need to acquaint yourself with those old Letterman shows. I agree, Conan is great but absolutely nothing tops the level of creative inventiveness and flat-out funniness that was the old Letterman show.
-
@cactaceous obviously not, but during the writer's strike conan's show was the only one worth watching.
-
@cnelson1928 He does, he contributes material to the head writers, just like Conan. You don't really think Conan writes everything on the show, do you?
do you have the whole thing?
