What is The Atheist Experience?

The Atheist Experience is a weekly cable access television show in Austin, Texas, geared at an atheist and non-atheist audience. The Atheist Experience is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin (ACA), a nonprofit educational corporation to develop and support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing and friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of state-church separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists and to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.

  • This kind of dialogue always fills me with some amazement and sorrow. Being from England, the concept of needing to hide atheism from a Christian mainstream is just mind-boggling. This is made all the stranger when you consider that the US is constitunionally secular, while the UK has an official church.

  • you know what gets me about the christens is that HELL was not even talked out in the bible old or new all it says 1 time is lake of fire no name for it Hell is a man made Name but then again so is the bible LOL

  • @Hiyami06

Pantheism seems so pointless. You believe the universe is god... in other words, there's no necessity for the word god at all, since it's already called the universe.

  • @autumnzephyr I'd say a pagan and atheist COULD relate in ways, just about how they are thought of to be on the "dark side" by main stream society.

  • @Fireflygamer I have to disagree on the part that pagans have no issues with atheists. I live near Salem and have seen more intolarance towards atheists. Maybe intolarance is not a good word, Hatred I think is a better choice. you may be ok with atheists but you don't speak for all pagans as a whole. I could careless what people believe in as long as they do not interfere in my life and my happieness. I wish others shared that sentiment. But they cannot let go of that fanaticism.

  • I am a Falun Gong practitioner. Falun Dafa is a cultivation system in the Buddha School based on the principles of the Universe: 真 Truthfulness 善 Compassion 忍 Forbearance.

Since 1999 it has been brutally persecuted by the CCP in China. People are being killed, tortured, put into concentration camps and have organs harvested from live people, simply because of their belief. More than 3400 Falun Gong practitioners have died at the hands of CCP in the past 12 years.

  • @autumnzep typically no pagan will ever try and convert anyone, if they are they do not understand the basics of the faith, that all paths are valid. Pagans have no issues with atheists and atheist don't have many issues with paganism. Sure they think we are silly for believing what we believe but we don't preach, don't try and convert, we don't discriminate or try to pass laws based on our own personal religious rules. we also share the experiences of discrimination form Islam and Christianity.

  • "Girls just like bad boys" made me chuckle :)

  • @gethsoftware haha good one and so true God Hades is a good God and they just use his underworld to make there hell with out death there is no life

  • @rainbowpagan2 hell is mostleilkly taken from hades. but hades is not really evil. it has areas that are for good people, and bad people. good get rewarded, bad get punished. hell in christianity is plase where you go if you dont subscribe to their religion. so christianity is ultimate subscriber whore plot.

  • I'm glad to see a Pagan having a civil conversation with an Atheist.
