Just hire a pool service....after you spend 300 dollars on chemicals to do it yourself....you could've just spent 250 and not had to do a thing if you'd hired someone! I'm a pool man myself....people do this all the time and it's silly to try to do it yourself if you don't know what your doing.

Hey tmtracing, My parents bought a new house with a huge pool. The previous owner only filed up the pool. She didnt even clean it or anything! Over time the pool got really GREEN. So I went to Lowes today and bough shock chlorine tablets and algaecide. Is that all i need??? PLEASE HELP!!!

Nice....thanks for posting. Did you check the ph before adding the algecide and flock? I've read the optimum level of the ph should be 8 for the flock to work well.
