A short demo of a 1966 Arbiter Fuzz Face. NKT275 germanium transistors. Completely original and sounding fabulous! I've had some very nice compliments about my ability to play the guitar AND shoot a vid... Thanks! (It was actually my mate wielding the camera sorry to disappoint you folks). The pedal was straight into my computer interface using a clean Marshall sim in Amplitube 3.

  • What a nice compliment- Thanks! Yeah- I like Clapton but I also like many other styles!! Actually I think that the tone pulls you in to playing a certain way that seems to feel like you are getting the most from it. It's very round and fat and the notes have a bit of a life of their own...

  • Yeah -well I play a lot of stuff with my feet these days...I like the toen

  • That was my very glamorous assistant wielding the camera!!!

  • Well....I've never really been a collector and I don't usually hang on to stuff just to have it gather dust. I love good gear but it needs to be heard.....I think anyway. The cash bought some stuff that I now use every gig - it's a drag but I can't have everything!!!

    ; >)

  • Yes- I've sold it now to a guy in the States but I'm happy for you to use my vid.

FYI the guitar was a custom job with humbuckers but I was using the coil taps.

It was recorded straight in to my audio interface and using a clean Marshall amp sim. This makes the tone even more impressive to me!! I was sorry to see it go really but It was just sleeping in a cupboard and it NEEDS to be used.....

  • I think so too!!

It's up on ebay for the next 10 days.... I'm not using it now and I want it to go to a good home.......

  • It is posible to remove the NKT's for testing?, I always wanted to know about the leakage and gains of these transistors- -- great demo!

  • Wow great tone I would have never guessed you weren't playing through a good tube amp had I not read the description. Great playing and tone, are you a fan of Clapton? Because your playing definitely reminds me of his

  • thanx brother

  • Shit.... How many hands do you have?

  • @Jezzaworld hey man what kind of guitar were you using? God damm that fuzz tone sounds so fat. The secret recipe is to have a crunchy tone+ the fuzz which gives you phenomenal results

  • aged beautifully, i like to think of this pedal as helen mirren

  • oh man i want this. what modern alternatives can i get that sound close this?

  • One the best review vids I've seen, simple!!

  • I'm stunned at his ability to handle a camera and pedal with his hands, while playing at guitar at the same time!
