"Happy" has a good point with the Snellen! Rember, 20/20 is not required to drive a car. The "standard" line is the 20/40 line, or reading 3/4 inch letters at 20 feet. Even if I did NOT drive a car, I would always verify that line on my Snellen. This perhaps is the great value of DOING PREVENTION YOURSELF. Get you free (Joel Schneider) PDF Snellen and print it out -- HERE: .i-see.org / eyecharts.html

There are basically two methods of prevention (from 20/40 to 20/50, or about -1 diopter). Briefly, they are Bates' method, and a so-called "Plus" method. In either case, you will need a Snellen to confirm successful results. That is the value of this video, and this advocacy.

A paper chart can be found here:

Use the "Schnieder" -- just about perfect -- for to perfect your vision using Bates.

Sorry you have no Snellen chart. You can find an electronic chart here:
.smbs.buffalo.edu/oph/ped/IVAC
/IVAC Just click on "display" several times -- and read the chart. Otis
Great videos, I just finished the lot. I plan to put these into practice, and hope to see results. I checked your website as well, and will explore the links there, as I assume you haven't made a second video yet? I would love to see more videos soon though. Excellent work!

@junkola4me Thank you for your appreciation! I have started work on a second video but it takes for ever. New clips are going on to my other channel, 'bateshappysight'

what she says is true, what you imagine, you see. That's why Glaucomapatients (high intraocular pressure destroying the retina) aren't aware of their defects, your brain (visual cortex) fills in the gaps. But remember, it's not a way off living, you now learned to imagine a few curves nd openings in a letter, that's not real visual acuity and if you would do such things in traffic, you could imagine it would be verry dangerous.

I don't think you have understood the function of the imagination in seeing. If you didn't use your imagination and memory when driving, you would not know what you were looking at or what its relationship to your car might be.
