On my travels to the Northern region of the US, I stopped by to see my friend Ray (also known as Videohollic2008a on YouTube). He took me on a quick tour of his hometown, Cleveland, Ohio.
Traveling on I-90, we pass Lake Erie and the Cleveland Stadium. We see the future site of the Society Center (completed in 1992). Also, we visit the Soldiers & Sailors Monument in the Public Square. This 125' tall structure is Cleveland's memorial to the Civil War and was dedicated on July 4, 1894. We also see the BP Building, across the street.
Of main interest is the Terminal Tower, also in the Public Square. This 708' structure was completed in 1928 - two years before the train terminal itself. It would remain the world's tallest structure (outside of New York) until 1967. The view from the top is now very rare as the observation area has been closed to the public since the terrorist attacks on 9/11/2001.
We finish the tour of the city by driving on a section of Interstate 90 known as "Dead Man's Curve".

I think a sad thing for me here (born in '57, Mt. Sinai Hospital, Cleveland) was hearing my parents' memories of a vibrant city they'd enjoyed growing up in. There was almost nothing left here any good by the '60s, there was martial law, riots, and later, bankruptcy. I took two spouses here and they were both quite horrified. This is a very interesting clip, however, thank you. Greetings from France from a Pennsy Dutch Slovenian Ohio born gal. sigh

How can lake erie be the "largest "of the great lakes what the hell was this guy smoking?

The BP building doesn't have many of the businesses in it today as it did in 89. The galleria was way more crowded each day 20 years ago, now it's never busy. And now it's not normal anymore to bring cameras in buidlings. Terminal Tower won't let you do that anymore and we know why. The tall building at 5:26 is the Cleveland State tower.

Kucinich pretty much helped bankrupt the city almost. Everything went down hill after Stokes.
