Halal and Haram food - Prof. Gamal Solaiman

Prof. Gamal Solaiman is one of the world's leading scholars of Islamic Studies with a focus on Shariah (Islamic Law). He is the resident Senior Shariah lecturer at the Muslim College and chairs the Muslim Law Shariah Council UK.

He received is BA (Aliya) and Alimiyya from Al-Azhar University in Cairo as well as earning a PhD from the University of Exeter.

Along with teaching Shariah at the Muslim College, Prof. Solaiman was also Chief Imam at London's Central Mosque for nearly 20 years following which he became the Imam at Ottawa Mosque in Canada. He as held and lead numerous round table meetings, conferences, campaigns and consultations across the globe as well as making many media appearances discussing the issue of Islam in the modern world.
