@rstarngc im sure they probably did. as litigious as this society is, id say india is similar. no doctor would take a chance. granted i coudl very well be wrong. but im glad they showed this , because i am going through alot ofthis myself

@Rumpelstiltskinsky I learn a lot from demonstrations such as this so I do appreciate the video but I agree maintaining patient confidentiality is also important. His face didn't need to be shown in this case. I hope that they get his permission.

this person had DM for 10-15 yrs...has he gone to CRF due to diabetic microangiopathy?

Most likely. However, tuberculosis of the kidneys is also likely in diabetics. In India tuberculosis is very common and must be suspected in all cases of diabetes showing early CRF. It is a treatable condition and timely treatment can stop progression to ESRD.

Tuberculosis is a common disorder in India, affecting almost 3% of the population. When in the lungs, the diagnosis is made easily. However, in cases of isolated renal tuberculosis the diagnosis may not come to light till the patient goes into CRF. Tuberculosis is a common, treatable condition and therefore should be commonly suspected, especially in cases of early CRF, where the creatinine levels are 1-4 mg. If diagnosed in time, one may be able to halt the progression of the disease.
