Do Italians have their own traditional birthday song? Not just a translated American birthday song? What is the real song that they would sing in Italy?

Happy Birthday was written by some Kentucky school teachers and the melody is also written by an American...the estate of these people still receive royalties from the Happy Birthday song. I think you have taken my comment as an insult which it was not. I was just curious about Italian culture and thought someone could give me some information. I wanted to post a traditional happy birthhday on my Italian friends wall for her birthday. I am sorry you took the question as an offense or insult.

@Bigcielo67 you're right about the origin of the song. This is a easy short song that we adopted translating it in Italian .. it actually says different words.. we say " tanti auguri a te" that means "many wishes to you" : We don't have our original song for birthday, in the past they probably didn't use to have birthday parties, so thanx america :P
