Hi, heres a video we at GrassRoutes produced to show how easy it is to revamp an old garden bed or two. Efficiently and focusing on maximum yield for little space. In the upcoming videos we will be showing how easy it is to build your own raised garden beds, prune, replant and maintain an old orchard. Plenty to come on how to provide nutritious fruits and veg for your family and freinds with little effort. Music Provided by Triple A Records and performed by The Kaipara Jammers. Presented by Doc Greenthumb. Directed by TeMatera Smith. Filmed and edited by Peter Crawford. Artwork by Cauldrey Design.

  • Top Video man - I am in Australia and am going to get the front yard going. It is Dead and grows all sorts of roots which i have just dug up... Do i need to do anything before i put compost on ?

  • @ThePhantomLash Hi, Thanks for the comment. I would try dolomite lime to ensure the soil is relatively PH nuetral. Then start from there by adding compost or manure as shown in the video. You could even put a few more inches on if you think the soil has been depleted severely. I am makin a stab in the dark by saying the roots are Dock? If so the soil will have a lot of nitrogen fixed by the dock roots. Keep it natural and you will see rewards. Another good Aus product is Seasol.

  • Great video! Can't wait for the apple tree ones.

  • @5Language Thanks for that. :) yes lots more videos to come...just have to get out there a film them now..spring has arrived.
