I review Met-Rx's Big 100 bars. As awesome tasting as they are, they're not exactly nutritious. Only difference between these and a Snickers bar is about 10g of carbs and 30g of protein.

Here's my score:
Taste: 5/5 Stars
Texture: 5/5 Stars
Ingredients: 1/5 Stars
Intangibles: 2/5 Stars

Consume them as a guilty pleasure, but not as a meal replacement!

  • is snickers good for muscle gain ?????

  • @ahmed51014 Do you believe in unicorns?

  • Hi! I'm trying to tone and lose a little flab so i actually turned to the met-rx protein plus (not the colossal 100) as meal replacement along with some yoplait light to round my calories up at lunch time to around 400-440. I was wondering since sugar and insulin make a difference when you're trying to burn fat, do the sugar alcohols in the ProteinPlus bar act the same as regular refined sugar? Also, the yoplait light has 14-15g of sugar, some of which is natural, should i cut it out as well?

  • @Tetsusaiga25 Protein bars are great if you're in a pinch or can't find the time to cook meals. If you want to stick to yogurt, get straight plain yogurt. I recommend straight greek yogurt with some almonds/honey. For lunch, also look at eating an entire bag (~32oz) of plain frozen vegetables. Stick them in the microwave for 4 minutes and season with pepper/Mrs Dash. As far as protein, tuna in a can, fish, grilled chicken, or beef are great. Cook for 3-4 days at a time and you're..

  • @Tetsusaiga25 ...set. It's a pain to do so, but it pays dividends later on in energy and waistline. Not to mention you'll probably save some money. Don't quote me on it, but I believe that once those sugar alcohols get in the body and are broken down they will be used in the same fashion as other sugars. And don't eat bland - use spices (except salt).
