The SOASC= project is an automated recording technique invented by me (Stone Oakvalley) in order to mass record music from the legendary Commodore 64 and its SID chips (6581 and 8580). The end result is the worlds largest music archive of authentic Commodore 64 as it should sound!

This feature film in 5 parts with a length of 45 minutes features real music from the Commodore 64 SOASC= recordings matched into a highly insane and tight synchronized graphics mayhem of a presentation galore.

The previous movie about this project was released here on YouTube in 2007 but I was never happy with the graphics, editing and footage there. For this cause I just had to use 4 months to create this massive beast of an editing treat.

This is the definitive movie about this project, so if you love Commodore 64 SID music get your popcorn and enjoy this magnificent ride into the cool music of the legendary home computer.

Visit the www.6581-8580.com for more news, information and of course the music as MP3 in a fully fledged database without any ads or crap in your face.

A higher resolution full length version is also available from my website.

Enjoy, 2008-bit rule, Commodore64EVER!

  • Commodore really had a thing going back then.. Too bad they never released their IBM clone in the states. Might have made up for the Plus-4 and that other bit of nonsense they released. I still have four of the Commodore machines; 2 each VIC-20 and C-64. One SID file I have (somewhere, and presuming the disk is still readable) is Moonlight Sonata. I'd sure love to see that one put up, as it was the best sounding file I had that used the (then) amazing SID chip..

  • We have two MP3's of the Moonlight Sonata, maybe its the one you seek?
