My usual mix contains:
Hard Boiled egg & cooked shell.
dandilions & lettuce.
blended bread crumb & slice of toast (in pieces).
sprinked with grit & millet.

@mandieandmark Do u keep any Bengalese/Society finches?...they make great foster parents. Im not sure about the food you are giving, although u could try making your own freshly prepared as its much better,mix in abit of cod liver oil liquid with the Nijer seed would be a good thing too, but u say your Goldfinch rears Canaries????...then im not sure if its the food being the problem.

hi mate would you be abel to help me out a littel bit please, my gold finch is breeding and hatching her egg perfect but dose not seem to be able to keep her chicks alive i think it may be the food im propering ,which is a ready mixed egg food i just add abit of water.

i know its not something the hens doing because she can rear canary chicks on this food but can not rear her own,

could you tell me the right food to give her to feed her chicks i would be very greatful for your help thank you.
