I have a shih-tzu named Annabelle and does the sneeze thing too when you tell her to speak. She'll speak, but after sneezing forever. My 2 1/2 year old daughter is trying to get Belle to dance for her. Sophie is adorable! Shih-tzu's are so smart and great dogs.

Isn't Sohpie the Shih Tzu that solved the sliding blocks with food inside? I've tried to find that block and the Pyramid toy to no avail. Sophie is so smart.. I have a rescued Shih Tzu, she's 10 now but still a buddle of fun & she still learns tricks. Could you post where you bought the intelligent toys. I even saw a toy called the Tornado that I'd like to get for my latest rescue. My Llasha Apso died last yr after giving us 15 yrs of joy. He too was a rescue. We all love our dogs, their family

Treats, lots of treats and start young! Also try and do hand motions,so they not just hear what your saying but also see the hand motions.Bang:like your shooting a gun, Rollover: twirling of your finger, Speak: I do closed fist forward motion, sometimes she does her tricks and I don't say anything to her,I just use the hand motions.

She is 5 and she learned her tricks when she was a puppy around 5 months old, she learned with treats.
