What an interesting presentation of morning TV we were treated to @ circ. 0701 on 3rd. October 2007 as I was channel surfing, remote in one hand & a good strong coffee in the other, along with my morning smoke; staple diet for this little duck. Yes You Tubers I do know that at least one of these things is bad for ones health, but I do intend to cut down on Australian Breakfast TV when I can find a patch that works !
Suddenly while checking out Seven's Sunrise 7AM News there was a loss of signal to the masses !
It was not the first time Channel Seven has had problems with their transmissions this year, back in early January some really freaky audio was heard on late night telly ! : -

As for this latest gremlin, a word that used to be synomenous with The ABC. (Aunty is looking good to Big Don....for now though) I've noticed this gremlin has happened before. This time I felt an investigation was warranted for the channel with very strong ALP leanings, as I consider myself to be a fair chap, why not I thought go to one of Seven's Top Tech Men for an explanation ? So it was time to do some phoning around & after a little effort I managed to get around ten minutes talk time from their Mr.John Hill out of HSV7 in Melbourne, the following are just a few comments Mr.Hill gave me, but am not prepared to air his views on Seven's media controversies & other technical issues discussed as I found him to be a decent fellow with both his time & info : -
Control computer switched all their sources off.
Had to use redundant site in Sydney, aspect ratio changes possibly caused by this & was a result of the control sequence they were going through.
Signal transmissions emanate from Melbourne, redundant Sydney site is standby only.
The switch to redundant site did not function properly.
It is a tech term but to call Sydney "redundant" is a little insulting to ATN7 perhaps ? Lol.
Anyway one does hope Mr.Hill's explanation helps those wondering what happened to a few minutes of their Sunrise fix of 3rd. Inst.
As for the video content, we start by seeing a very historical piece of footage of the opening in 1936 of BBC TV, followed by a marvellous piece from a BBC TV Colour test transmission way back in 1959, it rather leads in nicely to Ms.Doyle's comments regarding Dancing With The Stars transmitted the previous evening.
The "Early One Morning" song is rather apt for Sunrise of today, the words to it are really rather profound in relation to Sunrise.
Enjoy !
