@TAUBERFANLEHAR2 - The DVD is in pretty good quality for 1955. Picture is fairly sharp and the sound quality is fine.

I have the VAI Music DVD of the 1955 TV broadcast. Very nice indeed. It's a little disconcerting at first because Eddy is in his 50's playing a young man, but after a few minutes of singing you forget all that. Top Notch ensemble. Don't miss it.

@LadyGmarilyn I HAVE HAD THE DESERT SONG SPECTACULAR FOR YEARS, ORIGINALLY ON VHS, IT IS NOW SAFELY ON DVD.
I HAVE HEARD THAT THE QUALITY IS NOT TOO GOOD
