  • Inner city blacks who go off to receive a secondary education face culturally biased classes on a regular basis. Whites are not obligated to be knowledgeable of other cultures (but minorities have no choice but to be), nor do whites feel obligated to impliment those cultural values within the class setting.

  • that cultral bias can be overcame grew up in the pjs and i outed it i know dozens of others who had as well...when a peson wants sumthing bad enuff he/she gets it...they may have to take out extra loans for remedial classes but the yget it.. also the blame is the prior schooling which then goes back to parenting..peepz can learn outside of highschool as well..

  • It does strike me as odd that we are expected to acknowledge differences in cultures (and to respect those different from our own). But if cultures are indeed different, then isn't it reasonable to say that some may be better or worse suited to certain environments? My culture may succeed in a cubicle but get me killed in the wilderness. While Amazonian cultures may be better suited to the jungle than to Wall St. But we can't go there...because to do so is usually considered racist.

  • excellent thought there

  • Blacks in college classrooms are socially and culturally segregated. We can't relate to them, and they can't relate to us. Many young black males drop out of high school/college because of this. Most white professors are completely oblivious to minority culture (blacks, hispanics, asians, etc.) and minorities in general. Why we get jobs in the corporate world, it's the same shit, different setting.

  • that why i said racism hurts...because it hurt my son and i have to home school him now until i move or find another school....and the school in the black area is bad the teacher are no good..

  • my son is 7 years old and he can reads on a 6 grade level he can add 3 digit number in his head and he know how to do time table in his head when he was five years old...but after the teachers tested him in 1st grade they find out he was doing 5th grade reading and 3 grade math..so i thought his teacher were going to be proud of him but i was wrong and that when all hell broke lose and they give him hell they were angry because he was the only black boy and he was the most gifted in his class

  • yea ur right absolutely

  • yea like i told syfy tho i feel is cultural, the govt should still be distributing the funding equally/fairly and they dont..but i think the cultural thing has a bigger role in it too
