  • please I have a question... I love the 50mm 1.4, but I've read many reviews abou it and many of them said that its autofox had broken (didn't work) after a few days, and they had to fix it, so I got scared, can you tell me if there is any problem, or just it's good enough to spend about 400$.

    thank you so much.

  • I agree with alexbrysonmiley. Canon, Nikon, and Sony all make a 50mm 1.8, which is a third the price. They cost around $150 new at Adorama. I have the Nikon, and it is an awesome lens. It's best between 2.8 and 8f. The image quality is superb. I wouldn't spend that much money on a 1.4 unless you really needed it. Otherwise go with the 1.8. they focus fast, and also work excellent with tubes if you shoot macro.

  • what about the sigma one?

  • @xROBERTxDAVISx pentax, the same history , sony its not good ill go for sigma lens and canon, or nikon bodies

  • @TheMiszerak contrary to the popular belief, it is not.

  • @gilegraam that one's crap

  • @alexbrysonmiley the 50 f1.4 is an excellent lens but its around 350-400. if u are on a budget there is the 1.8 which is around 100 and it is a pretty good lens. if money isn't an issue then i would go for the 1.4

  • I just bought a canon 20D is the Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 a good buy for my camera ?

  • I shoot Nikon 50mm f1.4G, Nikon 85mm f1.4D & Tokina 100mm f2.8 for my portraits. I have to say that these lenses are so sharp that it can simulate a 3D pop of my image. The bokeh is so creamy that it really separates your subject from the background. I really love these lenses and it will surely stay in my camera bag for life!!:-))

  • You forgot the ultimate portrait lens Nikon 135 DC :D
